Another crazy month... I really need to write here more!

Hey all,
Well, another hectic month (actually two) has passed on the High Fiber team. It all started with crazy Purim, in which the label arranged a block party, which hosted Peled & Ortega, Sagol 59, Sadyle, and other local acts. Things were going well, beside two clashed with local police force. Fear not - we partied for 7 hours like hell!
the past two months after Purim were dedicated for concerts and promotion. Lukach released his colobration with Ko-X, a local Hair Metal group, named "Hai Be'Toch Bua (Living in a Bubble)". A song about the Israeli day to day escapism. So far it had about 13,000 plays online, which is kinda nice. His album also been played about 13000 times online at walla.co.il - you go lukach! Lukach is currently performing over Israel, and soon will release two singles to the radio. So stay tuned!
Beat69 released this week their second album "Banot Ohavot Banim Hazakim (Girls Prefers Strong Guys"). The album was produced by Yotam Ben Horin of Useless ID, and it is a really great album. So far you can listen to parts of it on walla.co.il, and also watch a mocumentary, featuring the terrifing bank robber the Ofnobank (Motorcycle Robber).
The album is available all over Israel, so keep an eye for it. Beat69 will release another Radio DJ from the album pretty soon, we are currently remixing it.
Peled and Ortega also had some great two months, they've finished recording their new mixtape, and now we are clearing all samples from it. The guys had a lot of concerts lately and currently you can catch them on the Israeli Independance day mega party of Barzilay club with legendary DJ A Trak.

Well, got to get back to work, more will come soon.

Dweck,
Label Manager

Good music? Hell Yeah!

Heya fellas, how ya all be doing?
Well, this post is being written from "Street Music Studio", the awsome place where we record Beat69's second album "Banot Ohavot Banim Hazakim (Girls Dig Strong Guys)". The guys are currently giving their last remarks on the album mix and I decided it's a good time to write you about what's on with the label's artists.
We are a week after the amazing release concert of Cuban B. It was an amazing evening. 400 Ska heads dancing in the Barby, great concert was given by the Cuban's and tons of special guests. Ortega hyped the crowd with great MCing, Ishay Berger of Useless ID was hosted on the guitar and DJ Pipe scracthed the Ska Punk like hell. It was really fun and we had some great reviews about the evening. We are currently promoting the album, "Hero WannaBeez", so you should all go and buy it!
Beat69, as I wrote, are currently completing their second album. In two weeks we'll release the first official music video ever of the band. It will be for "Oogot Gvina (Cheese Cakes)", the second radio DJ from their debut album. It looks great and you should wait and check it out. Besides in two weeks from now we'll have a prime time TV appearance for the second time. The band will be a special guest on "Rak Be'Israel" on channel 2, Israel. Did someone say over 25% rating? Well yeah, good things happening to Beat69. Come check their concerts out, next one is on Nov. 9th @ the Patiphone, Izhak Sade 32, Tel Aviv. With them you could catch "Bo La'Bar", "Sheinkin Punks" and the fabulous "Strawberry Jam".
Peled & Ortega will release their album in the next weeks. Pilpeled, the album's graphic designer, has finally finished the album's art. We are currently performing all over, heating the land up. Next concert is on Nov. 15th with the great Funk/Hip Hop/Jazz band "Coolooloosh". It will be on the Levontin 7, Tel Aviv.

Oh man, got to go back to studio. More will be updated soon.

Dweck

Welcome Aboard Man Alive!

Well friends, I'm happy to announce that Man Alive are officialy members of the High Fiber family. The label started to manage this excellent band, and here is a first and BIG note about them - Man Alive two next albums will be released on the Warner Music Group sub label: Band (B&) Recordings / Doghouse records. Big wow it is. This remarkable achievement is the first step toward the international release of Man Alive's fourth album. The street date is (for now, if nothing will happen): Japan, USA, and Israel - February 5th, 2008.

And here is the official press release:

Band(B&)Recordings/ Doghouse Records signs Man Alive!

Washington, DC - September 27, 2007 - Band(B&)Recordings, an independent record company, part of the Doghouse Records family, announced today the signing of the Israeli-melodic punk rock band MAN ALIVE.

It was only a handful of years ago that melodic punk rock bands were the backbone of the punk rock music industry. Before the ׂguyliner׃, fifty dollar faux-hawks, and designer pants, we rocked out to bands like Good Riddance, Lagwagon, No Use For A Name, Strung Out, and of course NOFX. Bands that were simple in their appearance, but complex in their energy-filled live shows, powerful musicianship, compelling melodies, and intriguing lyrics that werenױt necessarily always about love and heartbreak. Man Alive takes the unforgettable punk rock sound weױre all familiar with and adds all the addictive melodic elements we sing along to today.

Representing Jerusalem, this 4-piece group has already established a loyal following after playing the 2006 Take Action Tour (Silverstein, The Early November) and having just come off a tour with NOFX and Useless ID. In 2007 they entered the studio with producer/ engineer Jamie Woolford (Let Go, The Stereo) to record the follow-up to their Militia Group full-length ׂOpen Surgery׃ which was produced by Ed Rose (Get Up Kids, Motion City Soundtrack).

Look for a brand new full-length from Man Alive in early 2008 on Band(B&)Recordings Check out http://www.myspace.com/bandrecordings to hear exclusive tracks from their upcoming release.

About Band(B&)Recordings
Established in early 2006, Band(B&)Recordings debuted with Minutes Too Farױs ׂLet It Roll׃ and is now preparing for 5 more anticipated releases in 2008.
Happy Jew Year!

Hey fellas,
Well, it has been a good Jew year eve for High Fiber. Several good things happened over here lately. First of all Cuban B's album is finally out. "Hero WannaBeez" is the name, and it's a blast! Personally I really like Ska, and mostly Third Wave Ska. Not many know it, but High Fiber is the only label in Israel openly promoting Ska music. We try to arrange as many gigs as we can for Ska bands. Many times when people ask me for cool bands I send them to Ska acts in Israel (well, there are only three Ska bands over here, besides Cuban B). Anyway, the album is being distributed via the High Fiber mechanism, and it is placed in all the major music networks, and off course in the independent stores. The music will be distributed digitally internationally all over the globe.
On October 19th we'll celebrate the release in the Barby @ Tel Aviv with some good friends like Los Caparos (Polska) and the Strawberry Jams (Grrrl Riot!). So come, skank with the band, and I'm quite sure we'll have plenty of good times in there.

On the Beat69s front we have recently finished their second album. It's a first for the label to release a second album of any band. For me as label manager it is quite exciting. It was quite a risk to sign a group of three 13 year old teens, and here we are, two years later – a mega national hit. Just this week we took the first place in the yearly charts in local teen-zines. Also, Beat69 had their first nationwide primetime this week. They did a traditional Jewish holiday song in a Punk Rock version – was pretty neat! You can hear it over here:

On the Hip Hop side of the world, far from Punk Rock land, Peled and Ortega are kicking it hard toward releasing their album. The album is ready, the radio DJ "Bom (Ori Shochat Remix)" is ready, and we just wait for the final touch ups to the graphic design. Personally I always believed that a product should look excellent. After all, if someone is willing to buy your music – at least you should give him amazing cover! We are currently busy in booking them to small breaks in parties. Just last week they gave three songs in two Jew year celebrations – the Soundsystem Fest and in the Barzilay Club rave. Was quite cool. We are busy most of the time distributing copies of the album sampler around in parties and other locations. So far reactions are amazing. People dig their music, and its awesome. Soon we'll release some fresh new mixtapes, so there is a lot that going on.

Lukatch has also completed his album. The master will be picked by me later on today, and Gabi (Ex-Parvarim Refugeez member and a talented graphic designer) who works on the art told me the graphic design will be done soon. The awesome Asaf Billet is working on the first music video for the album, and we plan on massive attack on the media! Lukatch album is hilarious, and he already started to work with Gad Baruch on his second release. Quite cool if you ask me!

During October we'll distribute the Shitty City debut release – "Tarbut Ha'Parkin (Park's Culture)". A Hip Hop group from Acco, up in the north of Israel. They are two guys, Russian in origin, which does hardcore Hip Hop. They have great attitude, and their music is all about being Russian immigrant in Israel, living in Acco (which is a shitty place to live in) and other social issues. Personally I really dig them, and I think they have a future.

Well, that's it for this post… quite a lot. I should really update that news blog quite more ah? 

Cheers,
Dweck,
Label Manager

Beat69 and Ninet getting it on!

Well, here is something to see. High Fiber's Beat69 Pop Punk group - Beat69 will collaborate tonight with Israel's biggest Pop star, the winning of Kochav Nolad (Star Academy -Israel), Ms. Ninet Tayeb.

About a month and a half ago, Ninet's production contacted me and asked if we are into doing some collaboration with Ninet. The Beats said its one of the most hilarious things they can think of, and agreed. After several rehearsals and one concert in Jerusalem, comes the big night. On the stage of Coca Cola Music Village, infront of 15,000 people (sold out concert!!!), we will hand out Punk Rock versions to Ninet's song Ha'Or Be'Hayay, and three more songs of the Beat.
Quite exciting ah? I think it's a great opportunity. Most people think that mainstream is very open for new genres, but it's not. Beat69 is the only Pop Punk group in Israel who sings in Hebrew and gained some success. So you know, for us the whole concert is a true promotion for the local scene. Beat69 totally enjoy this whole shenanigan. Well, the stage is fucking amazing, and Ninet is a cutie. What else can a teenage band ask?

And here is a picture of Ninet, taken by the lovely Orit Pnini
(http://flickr.com/photos/iggy54/994771485/)

Cheers,
Dweck
Label Manager
